Tulsa: Treasures from a Blue Whale to a Magical Playground.

Tulsa is that kind of city that sneaks up on you—in the best way possible. Between artsy vibes, iconic Route 66 stops, and enough food to make your jeans tighten in protest, my trip was nothing short of unforgettable.

🖼️ Philbrook Museum of Art

This one’s still on my must-visit list, but from everything I’ve seen and heard, it’s a feast for both the eyes and the soul. Housed in a historic villa with breathtaking gardens, it promises an afternoon of culture and serenity. I'm already planning my outfit for a slow stroll through the Italian-style grounds!

🐘 Tulsa Zoo

My mom spent most of the day here. From elephants to rainforest habitats, she was completely enchanted—and watching her light up made it even better. The zoo itself is spacious, shady, and super walkable. A perfect family stop.

🎸 Woody Guthrie Center

If you're a music history buff, this one’s a gem. The center dives deep into the life and legacy of legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie. Even if you're just a casual listener, there's something powerful about being immersed in the sounds and stories that shaped a movement.

🌿 Gathering Place

This world-class park nestled along the Arkansas River feels like something out of a dream. With trails, whimsical playgrounds, and tranquil views, it’s a must for anyone needing a dose of outdoor magic.

🐋 The Blue Whale of Catoosa

Okay, I had to stop here—and I’m so glad I did. This giant, grinning blue whale lounging in a pond is pure Route 66 kitsch.

🧁 MAD Eats

Let’s talk dessert magic. I had the churro cheesecake giant milkshake at MAD Eats, and I’m convinced it changed me as a person. Imagine a frosted-rimmed milkshake glass, loaded with a slice of cheesecake and churros. It was absurd. It was glorious. I loved every bite. (Pro tip: they also serve boozy shakes if you want to kick things up a notch—cheers!)

💫 Final Thoughts

Tulsa is more than oil town nostalgia—it’s a mix of old-school charm, modern flair, and surprisingly good milkshakes. Whether you're chasing roadside attractions, tasting your way across town, or finding zen in an art museum garden, this city makes room for everyone.

Next time? I’m bringing a picnic blanket for the Philbrook gardens and saving extra space for more dessert from Sips & Swirls Dessert Bar.
