📺 The Pioneer Woman Lodge Tour

Let’s start with a dream come true—visiting the lodge where Ree Drummond’s cooking show is filmed! We picked up our free tickets at The Mercantile, followed the scenic directions, and found ourselves in Ree’s kitchen. Standing in the space where those famous recipes come to life was such a surreal and special moment, especially sharing it with my mom.

🛍️ Shopping at the Merc & a Flamingo Surprise

Naturally, we spent way too much time (and maybe a little too much money) at The Mercantile. From kitchen gadgets to candles, it’s like stepping into a Pinterest board. But what really made us smile? A trip to The Buckin’ Flamingo! This quirky little shop was packed with color, charm, and a whole lot of character—and yes, I proudly walked out with a metal goat for my garden. Highly recommend snapping a photo outside—it's Insta gold.

🐃 Nature, History & a Swinging Good Time

  • Tallgrass Prairie Preserve – A short drive out of town led us into a sprawling sea of grass dotted with free-roaming bison. We rolled the windows down and just breathed it all in—such a peaceful spot.

  • The Swinging Bridge – A fun, slightly wobbly walk that gave us a new angle on town (and a few giggles).

  • Osage Nation Museum – A meaningful stop that dives deep into the history and culture of the Osage people. Powerful and beautifully curated.

🍽️ Where to Eat

  • The Pioneer Woman Mercantile – The food was every bit as delicious as expected. From towering plates of comfort food to buttery baked goods, we left full and happy. (Pro tip: put your name on the waitlist as soon as you arrive in town, then explore while you wait!)

  • The Dirty Laundry Saloon – Originally a bar and coffee shop, this place now serves food, too. It's always my first stop for caffeine and the funky, vintage decor just adds to the charm.

  • P-Town Pizza – Delicious, wood-fired pies and a great place to kick back.

  • Bad Brad’s Bar-B-Q – You can smell the smoky goodness before you even walk in.

  • Charlie's Sweet Shop – We popped in to cool off with ice cream and smiled at the tribute to Charlie, Ree's dog.

  • El Kanelo – Mom and I split a pitcher of margaritas and devoured some of the freshest Mexican food in town.

🛍️ Where to Shop

  • The Mercantile – Beautiful displays, high-quality home goods, and a dash of Pioneer Woman charm.

  • The Buckin’ Flamingo – Home to the famous garden goat and all things quirky.

  • Roots + Blooms – I surprised my mom with a bottle of perfume here—it smells like sunshine and wildflowers.

  • Osage Outfitters – My cowgirl alter ego came alive trying on hats.

  • Lorec Ranch – Dreamy Western decor and statement furniture that made me want to redecorate.

💤 Where to Stay

  • The Pioneer Woman Boarding House – Eight dreamy suites, each designed with care. True cowboy luxury!

  • Frontier Hotel – Historic charm and centrally located.

  • Historic Whiting Hotel Suites – Cozy with rooftop views and balconies.

  • The Maybelle – A charming Craftsman-style home with modern amenities.

  • Osage Casino Hotel - Pawhuska – For a little nightlife and play.
